Our dog friendly cottages

As dog owners, we know how important it is to be able to take your furry friends on holiday with you and be able to relax and enjoy your stay, whilst making them feel at home and get the best out of their holiday too. That’s why all of our cottages are dog friendly and each cottage has an enclosed private garden. As well as the private garden we have a larger communal grass paddock which is a nice size for dogs to stretch their legs a little more and have a good old sniff about.

We are surrounded by country lanes which can take you on short circular routes as well as longer ones which incorporate open moorlands that are open to the public. The public footways website is quite good to reference where all the bridleways are near to our address. https://map.devon.gov.uk/dccviewer/MyLocalPaths/

We have 3 beautiful and quiet forestry commission woodlands within a 15/20 minute drive away.

There are also some interesting walks from Chulmleigh: https://www.chulmleigh.org/leisure/walks.htm

Further afield there are oodles of day trips to take, all within easy reach of the cottages-

North Devon coast including Saunton Sands which is dog friendly all year round.

Fingle Bridge, Heddons Mouth, Tarr Steps, Valley of the Rocks, Exmoor, Dartmoor to name a few.

When it comes to dining out, The Red Lion in Chulmleigh is dog friendly and serves great pub grub and the award winning Grove Inn, Kings Nympton is super cosy, serving great food and welcomes dogs too. Both are about 2 miles away. There are several cafes in South Molton that welcome dogs, The Corn Dolly is probably my favourite. Most shops are also dog friendly and many of the shop owners have their own dogs there during the days too.
